This policy describes how personal data is processed when you visit the website or send an enquiry. Personal data is information that relates to you or can be linked to you, such as your name, email address or IP address.
Website hosting with Wix
I use Wix to provide the technical infrastructure for this website. The provider is Wix.com Ltd., 5 Yunitsman Street, Tel Aviv, Israel. Wix provides the infrastructure used to deliver page content and images and operate website features. Where Wix processes personal data on my behalf, this processing is governed by the Wix Data Processing Addendum, which forms part of the Wix Terms of Use.
When you visit a page, technically necessary connection data is processed so that content can be sent to your browser. This includes your IP address in particular. For operation, troubleshooting and security, the time of access, pages visited, browser and device information, and technical error messages may also be processed.
The purposes of this processing are to display the website reliably and protect it against disruption and attacks. The legal basis is Article 6(1)(f) of the GDPR. My legitimate interest is to provide a secure, functioning website. This basis does not automatically cover any further analysis of your browsing behaviour.
Contact form
You can use the central enquiry form to contact VISAURA. Your name, email address, enquiry type and message are required. You may also choose to provide your company or educational institution, telephone number, number of participants and preferred dates.
I use these details to respond to your message, establish the requested contact and, where appropriate, prepare an individual proposal. Where your enquiry concerns a service or contract with you, the processing is based on Article 6(1)(b) of the GDPR. Other enquiries are handled under Article 6(1)(f) of the GDPR; my legitimate interest is appropriate communication with prospective customers and business contacts.
The form is provided through Wix Forms. Submitted information is stored by Wix and made available for processing in the form dashboard. Further information about technical storage is available in the Wix documentation on managing forms.
Providing your information is generally voluntary. Without the information needed to respond, I may be unable to handle your enquiry. Please do not send health data or other particularly sensitive information through the general contact form. Sending an enquiry does not, by itself, constitute consent to receive advertising.
Protecting the form against spam and misuse
The central form uses Wix's advanced spam protection. According to Wix documentation, this combines reCAPTCHA with additional spam filters. Invisible reCAPTCHA assesses visitor behaviour to identify automated access. A verification challenge may be displayed if suspicious activity is detected. Additional filters consider information including network identifiers and contact details to detect unwanted or harmful submissions.
The purpose is to protect the enquiry channel against automated misuse. For the processing of personal data, I rely on Article 6(1)(f) of the GDPR. My legitimate interest is a secure and usable means of contact. Storing information on, or accessing information from, your device is also subject to the requirements described in the following section.
Google describes the use of the _GRECAPTCHA cookie when reCAPTCHA performs its risk analysis. Further information is available from Wix on form protection and Google on data processing by reCAPTCHA.
Email enquiries
If you contact me by email, I process your sender address, the recipient address, subject, message and any attachments, as well as technical transmission data. This information is used to handle your message and further correspondence. The legal bases described above for contact enquiries apply.
Email service providers are involved in the technical transmission and delivery of emails. Retention of correspondence depends on the enquiry and the criteria described in the retention section.
Cookies and similar technologies
Cookies and similar technologies store or read information in your browser or on your device. Wix describes their use for purposes including security, stability and the technical operation of the website. Wix's cookie information explains the cookies documented by Wix, their purposes and lifetimes. Information about reCAPTCHA is also provided in the section on form protection.
Where storage or access is strictly necessary to provide a digital service you have explicitly requested, Section 25(2), no. 2 of the German TDDDG applies. If personal data is processed in this context, a legal basis under the GDPR is also required.
Storage or access that is not strictly necessary generally requires prior consent under Section 25(1) of the TDDDG. Where subsequent processing of personal data is based on that consent, Article 6(1)(a) of the GDPR is the legal basis. You may withdraw consent at any time with effect for the future. Using the enquiry form alone does not constitute consent to analytics or advertising activities.
Recipients and processing in other countries
Wix processes data to provide the website and enquiry form. It may use affiliated companies and other technical service providers for this purpose. Information published by Wix is available in its Data Processing Addendum and list of subprocessors.
Data may also be processed outside the European Economic Area. Wix describes the initial transfer to Israel as based on the European Commission's adequacy decision. Further transfers, for example to service providers in the United States, may occur depending on the features used. Where no suitable adequacy decision applies, Wix provides appropriate safeguards such as EU Standard Contractual Clauses. You may request information from me about the relevant safeguards.
Retention periods
How long data is retained depends on the purpose of processing, the progress of your enquiry and any statutory retention obligations. For contact enquiries, relevant factors include whether the enquiry has been answered, whether further discussion is needed and whether it leads to a contractual relationship.
Data must be deleted when it is no longer needed for these purposes, unless statutory retention obligations or the necessary protection of legal claims prevent deletion. Documents subject to retention requirements are retained in accordance with the applicable law. Technical storage of form submissions at Wix is distinct from any copy held in email correspondence.
Your rights
Subject to the applicable legal requirements, you have the right to access, rectification, erasure, restriction of processing and data portability. You may withdraw consent at any time with effect for the future. This does not affect the lawfulness of processing carried out before withdrawal.
Where processing is based on legitimate interests, you may object on grounds relating to your particular situation. You may object to processing for direct marketing at any time without giving a specific reason.
You may also lodge a complaint with a data protection supervisory authority, particularly in the place of your habitual residence, workplace or a suspected infringement. Contact details for the Bavarian State Office for Data Protection Supervision are available on its contact page.
